BidToWinJobs is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are

2. What Data We Collect
We collect: (a) Identity data – name, email address; (b) Contact & location data – service address, job location coordinates; (c) Transaction data – bid amounts, payment method details (card last 4 digits only, via secure third-party processors); (d) Usage data – pages visited, actions taken, device/browser info; (e) Communications – messages between clients and providers; (f) Review data – ratings and comments left by users.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: provide and improve the Platform; facilitate connections between clients and service providers; process payments and prevent fraud; send service-related communications; comply with legal obligations; resolve disputes; and analyse usage to improve our services. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
We rely on the following lawful bases: (a) Contract – processing necessary to fulfil our services to you; (b) Legitimate interests – fraud prevention, platform security, analytics; (c) Legal obligation – tax, financial reporting requirements; (d) Consent – marketing communications (you may withdraw at any time).
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records kept for 7 years per HMRC requirements). Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request erasure ("right to be forgotten"); restrict processing; data portability; object to processing; and withdraw consent at any time. 7. Third-Party Processors
We share data only with trusted third parties who process data on our behalf: payment processors (Stripe, PayPal); cloud hosting providers; analytics services. All processors are contractually bound to handle data securely and in accordance with UK GDPR.
8. International Transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions recognised by the UK ICO.
9. Security
We implement technical and organisational measures including 256-bit SSL encryption, access controls, regular security reviews, and data minimisation practices. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and the ICO as required by law.
10. Camera & Photo Access
When you use BidToWinJobs on a mobile device, we may request access to your device camera and photo library solely to allow you to upload photos of jobs or work completed. We do not store, transmit, or process any images beyond those you explicitly choose to upload. Camera and photo permissions are optional — you may decline them and manually select images if your device allows, or skip photo uploads entirely. You can revoke these permissions at any time via your device Settings > Apps > BidToWinJobs > Permissions.
